- 01
Start with connected skills.
Dribbling, passing, shooting, lay-ups and defence form a useful starting set. Do not practise each as if nothing comes before or after it: receive, stop, look, then choose the next action.
- 02
A simple practice route.
Begin with controlled ball handling, continue with partner passing, then take close shots and practise finishing. Add a small-sided game so the skills have a purpose. Use a clear space and an appropriate ball; a coach can adapt difficulty to the group.
- 03
Track a task you can repeat.
Record something concrete such as clean catches during the same passing exercise. Keep the conditions comparable. A drill score shows progress on that task; it does not prove a player’s overall level or predict game performance.
